I stopped right beside his door and said "Here's a little hint for you" and then closed the door on him (he hadn't even put his feet out yet so it wasn't a problem). I may have closed it with a bit more force than expected. He did say a confused sorry as I was shutting the door in his face. I then rode off in the now clear bicycle lane.
