That whole development is why I stopped taking Elizabeth Street into the city.
I found that dodging tradies getting their morning coffee on Bridge Road was safer than dodging tradies getting to work late on Elizabeth Street....
The tradies have pretty much finished (although there is this whole empty block which looks like it might be park/play land but more likely will be another high-rise sometime).
The City of Yarra have widened the bike lane on Elizabeth St and put a buffer zone in (which is pretty much where I ride anyway - in the buffer zone away from the parked cars).
It isn't too bad - just the side street entrances and exits are the dangerous points.
