Yeah its the Annerversary trail I was thinking of... not the centenial.. My bad, Its going to be a long commute for you doing it that way. Still it would be good training. You can get on the trail from Toorak rd. Turn north just by the raiway line.. The first hundred metres are bloody steep. Its the bit after you cross the railway line that I had that fall. I would go down the road that runs along the path along there now
That track gets you to Burke rd.. But I would turn off there and go up thru the back streets... and up the continuation of Bulleen rod (past where I used to live) and then cross doncaster rd and go down Bulleen.. Turn right just before crossing tthe freeway.. and from the South eastern corner footpath you can see the ramp that goes down to the eastern freeway bike path... whatever they call it.
You do know there is a velodrome in Hawthorn just of gardiners creek where you can go do laps? Its really sad you are doing the GVBR alone. My evil ex did it alone 2 years ago and made lots of friends
Lots of people arround to train with including us. My gf Kathy would love someone to ride with... she thinks she is too slow for us. Very few professional cyclists here. Sadly. My offer from Discovery Channel got lost in the mail I guess.
Yeah you could possibly describe cycling as a sport
