Frankly, I am not concerned about there being a possible donation to anything.
I just want to ride around the bay in an organised, supported fashion.
I did the MS ride in feb, my sister and niece have MS (but get no support from the society) my motivation was to ride over the westgate bridge again.
The Amy Gillett was a ride around the bellarine peninsula, the idea of promoting safety of bike riders/commuters (that is, ME) was secondary.
when most fund raising EVENTS are analysed. for example, charity auctions, the charity is invariably secondary to other motivations - showing off, my .... is bigger than the other persons!
we all tend to rationalise some of our actions as being for the betterment of society, whereas those actions are designed to give ourselves a warm inner glow - spin is king.
So my reason for doing around the bay is to test myself - i am grateful to the organisers for providig the opportunity and benefit to a charity is irrelevant
