Just a little assistance can go a long way when people start riding to work
Do you know anyone who is starting out? Think back to when you first started commuting. How much easier would it have been if you had someone to give you a little guidance and motivation? Perhaps some tips on how to carry things, route choice or what to do at a tricky intersection. This is where you, as a regular commuter, can share what now comes natually to you.

You may just want to have a chat over a coffee, and throw them a few web links. Perhaps some suggestions on what to do with clothing. Or, you can have a more active role and help them out on the roads. Any assistance would be welcomed. |

Route choice
To aid in working out a route, you may want to use Google Map's new bicycle route feature (it is in beta, but you can drag their suggested route to something more suitable) or alternatively ridethecity.com is great if you live in some of Australia's major cities. Alternatively, there's a few more suggestions, including getting in touch with your local cycling organisation here.
Of course, your own experiences are probably even more valuable - especially when thinking about the time of day and the direction of travel.
