Help plan city safety
19 November 2012. The City of Melbourne is developing a Road Safety Plan with the aim of improving safety for people on bikes (and other road users) and it wants bike riders to help it identify priorities for improvements.
As Victoria’s busiest municipality for pedestrian and cycling activity, and with plans to greatly expand the role of bikes in the city, Melbourne is making the safety of vulnerable road users paramount.
It is asking two key questions:
- What safety improvements would you like to see?
- What safety issues matter to you?
Have your say by completing the online survey.melbourne.vic.gov.au/roads
Or you can email roadsafetyplan@melbourne.vic.gov.au
or write to Manager, Engineering Services, GPO Box 1603, Melbourne VIC 3001.
You can also discuss the plan at a community Talk Shop on Saturday 24 November 2012 from 10am to 4pm. Look for the City of Melbourne street cylinder outside 169 Swanston Street (near Bourke Street Mall).
