1 How to use RiderLog to record your trips
Press Start before you ride, Stop when you get there and then Save Ride
1 Start the app
2 Choose transport or recreation
This will help us file the trip in the right place. Transport includes riding to work, to the shops, railway station, cinema and so on. Recreation could be a ride along a bike path or a training or fitness ride. Sometimes the same routes will be used for both purposes but governments need to be able to tell them apart as the facilities are often funded from a different budget.
3 Press Start.
Sometimes the app will say 'Your location is still being determined. You may begin but the start of your journey may not be recorded.' In this situation you can wait for the scrolling GPS wheel to turn green, or you can pedal off and let the app sort it out while you are riding.
4 You can fit your iPhone on your handlebars with a bracket. There are a number available including the Biologic . In this way the iPhone becomes your bike computer.
Or you can press the silver Sleep/Wake button on the top of the iPhone and put the phone in your pocket.
5 When you get to your destination or to the end of your training ride, wake up your phone if necessary and press stop
6 The app will offer you the option of Save or Dismiss Ride.
7 When you Save your ride the app will save the details of your ride to your phone. You can see how long you took and your average speed over the distance of your trip. You can see a map of your trip by pressing the blue map button.
