Workplace Bicycle User Groups

Keep the momentum going and start your own Workplace Bicycle User Group

Starting a Workplace BUG (Bicycle User Group) is a great way to help lift the profile of bike riding in your organisation.

Workplace BUG Guide

If you are thinking of getting the cyclists in your workplace together, take a look at the Workplace BUG Guide. The Workplace BUG guide tells you what a Bicycle User Group is, why you should start one and gives you an action plan to help you get your BUG going.

Register your Workplace BUG

Maybe you already have an email list or corporate cycling team but you have never called your group a BUG before. Why not register your Workplace BUG today - it only takes two minutes and there is no cost involved to join the growing list of Workplace BUGs!

Some things your Workplace BUG can do...

Ride to Work Another Day

Perhaps you'd like to organise a Ride to Work Another Day breakfast or morning tea. It is a great way for regular and new cyclists to get to know each other, and you may even entice some more of your colleagues to commute to work by bike.

Communicate

Spread the word about bikes and your BUG - produce a regular newsletter, set up a BUG website or intranet site and produce a site map showing the location of your bike parking, showers and other bike facilities.

Bike Buddy Scheme

Start your own buddy scheme by pairing new riders with experienced riders so they can share their route together.

Presentation for new riders

Have you thought of running a lunchtime workshop for new riders to help them take the first step? This 20 minute presentation works well along side The top 10 most frequently asked questions about riding to work flyer. If you would like more flyers please contact us - it may even be something you would like to keep on hand at work.

Workshops

Workshops are a great way to share tips, answer questions and start discussions. Organising a workshop is a great excuse to get cyclists in your workplace together. Invite a guest speaker or somebody from your local bike shop to share their cycling knowledge.

By publicising your workshop to everybody in your workplace you may even pick up a few new members, or people who would like to start cycling.
