"I recently contacted Bicycle Network Victoria about getting information about pursuing an insurance claim against a driver who doored my bike and wrote it off. After about 5 weeks the driver still hadn't provided the right details to his insurance company to allow the claim to be raised by me. The guy I talked to at Bicycle Network Victoria was very helpful and sent out details about how to write a letter of demand. I'm grateful that Bicycle Network Victoria provides legal assistance to riders in this situation as I feel that including a sentence about this in the letter of demand was really helpful. Once I delivered the letter to the car driver I got action within one day! The claim has now been paid in full and I've just ordered a new bike and hope to be back on the road this weekend.
