About the Presenter

For over two decades Dr. McKenzie‐Mohr, an environmental psychologist, has been incorporating scientific knowledge of behaviour change into the design and delivery of community programs. He is the founder of community‐based social marketing ‐‐ an approach to delivering environmental behavioural change programs that is used worldwide. He has provided training internationally for over 50,000 environmental program planners. See www.cbsm.com

A former Professor of Psychology at St. Thomas University, Fredericton, Canada, Dr. Mckenzie-Mohr has served as chair of the American Psychological Association Task Force on Sustainable Development, as coordinator of the international organization Holis - The Society for a Sustainable Future, as a member of Canada's National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy, and as a member of the National Advisory Committee for SustainABILITY. He has been awarded the Canadian Psychological Association's Psychologists for Social Responsibility Research and Social Action Award and the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Public Advocacy Fellowship.

His website consists of five resources for those working to foster sustainable behaviuors, such as those involved in conservation, energy efficiency, transportation, waste reduction, and water efficiency. The site includes the complete contents of the book, Fostering Sustainable Behaviour, as well as searchable databases of articles, case studies, and turnkey strategies. Further, it includes, discussion forums for sharing information and asking questions of others.
