RACV Great Victorian Bike Ride

A great way to be involved with a great event!

In its 29th year, the RACV Great Victorian Bike Ride is the ultimate cycling and camping holiday through some of Victoria’s most beautiful communities. Organised by Bicycle Network Victoria, this years ride will occur from Saturday 24th November through to Sunday 2nd December 2012.

This year we are offering over 500 diverse volunteer roles! Regardless of your interests skills or background, there will be a role on the event for you.

What is it?

The RACV Great Victorian Bike Ride enables all bike riders of all abilities to participate in a 9-day bike riding holiday meeting the challenge of riding through the Victorian landscape. Last year there were over 500 people who donated their time to help make the event a success.

Why should I volunteer?

With almost 30 years of experience hosting some of Australia’s most iconic mass participation events Bicycle Network Victoria has the most sophisticated and supportive event volunteer programs in the country. It's an opportunity to not only contribute to the succes of the event, but to spend a week in another world.


With over 500 roles available, we have something that caters to people from all different walks of life, ages, skills interests and backgrounds. Whichever role you choose you will be supported by an experienced Team Leader and the Events team.

What can I expect in the Lead up?

When you register with on myvolunteerpage.com, you will receive an email acknowledging your registration. Once applications are received, they will all be reviewed and teams will be confirmed in the coming months.

You will hear from your Team Leader in the lead up to the event and they will provide you with specific information related to your role and be able to answer any questions that you may have. In addition to this you will receive regular updates via email from the Events Team that will provide you with more information on how the event is shaping up.

What can I expect on event?

On the first day you will report to your designated location and check in with your team leader. You will be provided with your uniform and equipment for the event, and you will then be delegated to a task. Each day will be filled with different tasks and opportunities, which allows you to get the most out of your experience by interacting with the riders, spectators and other volunteers.


We strongly recommend that you ensure bring the appropriate clothing including warm clothes, wet weather gear and sunscreen, as well as a charged mobile phone, and any personal supplies that you may need like snacks and drinks.
