Dental bills don't come cheap - just ask Roger
Members are able to claim up to $7500 in non-Medicare medical expenses (including. Dental). An excess of $150 applies, then the member can claim 85% (up to $7500).
Roger's story
Late last year Roger, a Bicycle Network Victoria Member, lifted his front wheel to get over a spoon drain while riding. Unfortunately his wheel was loose, and although he can’t quite remember what happened next some dog walkers saw him ‘face plant’ and called an ambulance.
The next day Roger was back on a bike (from his stable) and off to the dentist. It was here that he discovered the real consequences of his loose wheel – he had two broken teeth (one broken below the gum line).
With the wonders of modern dentistry this could all be fixed. So after three months of x-rays, dental implants (or “carpentry” as Roger likes to call it) and two full crowns Roger’s smile is as good as new.
Roger was initially hesitant about filing a claim through his Bicycle Network Victoria Membership after seeing the paper work required – but after encouragement from Harry Barber, CEO of Bicycle Network Victoria, Roger submitted his claim to the membership department.
After nearly $8,000 of costs associated with the accident, Roger was able to claim back over $6,500. Roger thought that this was a very good outcome.
