Route Communication Assistant

Route Communication Assistants are based within the Route Control Centre - the critical hub of the event. Route Communication Assistants control and monitor all 2way radio communications occurring out on route. Within this position, you will always be up to date with the gossip from the ride! Route Marshal

The eyes & ears of the ride, Route Marshals are strategically placed along the rider route. You will encounter varying responsibilities - from cheering on the riders, providing assistance to those who may be struggling, giving directions, notifying Route Control of any issues and helping inform motorists and pedestrians about the event. Route Signage

The Route Signage Team is responsible for the safe and practical installation of route directional signage, ensuring that our riders stay on track. Being able to read a map and find your bearings is essential! For a full position description click here.

Motorcycle Marshal

Motorbike Marshals are mobile trouble-shooters out on route assisting Route Control.  You must be first aid qualified (Level 2) and hold a valid motorcycle license.  Assigned to a Rest Area, you will monitor riders and the rider route within a designated boundary.  You get to ride in the event...with the assistance of a motor! WARBY - 50km ride distance

WARBY stands for We Are Right Behind You. They provide mechanical and  emotional assistance to riders along the route .  WARBY's must be fit, well equipped and ready for a long day on the saddle!  For a full position description click here.

SAG Wagon

The SAG Wagon Team patrols the route in vehicles with trailers, and assists those riders who are unable to continue due to mechanical or body breakdown.  Team members need to be sympathetic and supportive to those riders they collect.  For a full position description click here.

Lunch Assistant

The Lunch Crew is responsible for issuing lunches, drinks and snacks to famished riders at  Alexandra Gardens. You guys are always very popular!  For a full position description click here.

Sorrento Team

The Sorrento team performs 4 main tasks: the 100km Start, providing lunch to many of the riders, assisting with ferry loading and unloading and the cleanliness and set up and pack down of the site. For a full position description click here.

Information and Registration Team

Located at teh main event site at Alexandra Gardens, this team provides information to all the riders and spectators over the course of the event. In addition the registration of 50km riders and rider pack collection is also handled by this team. A critical role in the enjoyment of participants in Bupa Around the Bay. For a full position description click here.

Queenscliff Team

The Queenscliff team performs 3 main tasks:  providing lunch to many of the riders, assisting with ferry loading and unloading and the cleanliness and set up and pack down of the site. For a full position description click here.

Site Assistant

Site Assistants, located at Alexandra Gardens, are responsible for the set up and delivery of a safe and fully functional site in order to cater for the riders, spectators and staff.  There are various shifts available depending on your availability - whether you want to get involved early in all the hype at the start line or later in the day by soaking up all the buzz at Alexandra Gardens as a Finish Marshal. Some manual handling duties are required in this role (i.e. moving barricades and erecting signage). For a full position description click here.

Massage Assistant

You will be up there in popularity stakes with the Lunch Assistants!  Your job is to provide basic massage services to those tired and weary bodies at Alexandra Gardens. Start/ Finish Marshal

Based at Alexandra Gardens, your task is to get the riders safely underway, or to welcome them home! For a full position description click here.

Geelong Team

The Geelong Team performs 3 main tasks: the 100km Start, providing marshaling and direction for the riders,  and the cleanliness and set up and pack down of the site.  For a full position description click here.

100km Transport Assistant

All aboard!  Your job is the load hundreds of excited and eager riders with their bikes onto the buses at St Kilda Road (opposite the Melbourne Arts Centre) in order to make their way to the 100km Start Area in Sorrento.  Your job is done by 7am!  If that is not enough for you, afterwards you can join in another team at Alexandra Gardens.  For a full position description click here.

Hospitality Assistant

Hospitality Assistants get to rub shoulders with the corporate teams who have purchased food and beverage packages.  You will meet and greet all guests and may also assist in serving beverages in our licensed bar (RSA needed). For a full position description click here.
