Bicycle Network: Get Involved! - Volunteer with Bicycle Network

Bicycle Network Victoria aims to make each event as enjoyable as possible.  For each Volunteer role, Bicycle Network Victoria will provide:

• A clear job description and sufficient information.
• Job satisfaction including adequate time off.
• Jobs that are worthwhile.
• Someone to whom you are accountable.
• Support and trust from your team leader and co-workers.
• Shared responsibilities with co-workers.
• Participation in team meetings and in planning and organising of your work area.
• Training, both initial and ongoing, where appropriate.
• Appropriate feedback on your performance.
• Knowledge of what you will be expected to do and how to say no to unacceptable tasks.
• Reimbursement for expenses where approved.
• Transport from site to site during an Event.
• Protection in the workplace, insurance and personal safety.

In return, volunteering requires a certain amount of responsibility. It is your job to:

• Understand and support Bicycle Network Victoria's mission, objectives and policies.
• Register as a Volunteer by completing an application form.
• Provide authenticated proof of qualifications, where required.
• Behave acceptably and appropriately and comply with all Event rules, regulations and policies.
• Respect the privacy of others.
• Dress in a safe and appropriate manner for your duties.
• Be dependable and give adequate notice if unable to carry out assigned tasks.
• Undertake training in order to perform your duties safely and competently.
• Attend all briefing, training and scheduled on-Event meetings.
• Co-operate with others to ensure tasks are performed as efficiently as possible.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to your team leader and Event organisers.
• Be aware of your own welfare and not become over-committed.
