Rights and Responsibilities
The rights and responsibilities of a Bicycle Network Victoria Volunteer
Bicycle Network Victoria aims to make each event as enjoyable as possible. For each Volunteer role, Bicycle Network Victoria will provide:

A clear job description and sufficient information.

Job satisfaction including adequate time off.

Jobs that are worthwhile.
-
Someone to whom you are accountable.
-
Support and trust from your team leader and co-workers.

Shared responsibilities with co-workers.
-
Participation in team meetings and in planning and organising of your work area.

Training, both initial and ongoing, where appropriate.

Appropriate feedback on your performance.
-
Knowledge of what you will be expected to do and how to say no to unacceptable tasks.

Reimbursement for expenses where approved.
-
Transport from site to site during an Event.

Protection in the workplace, insurance and personal safety.
In return, volunteering requires a certain amount of responsibility. It is your job to:

Understand and support Bicycle Network Victoria's mission, objectives and policies.

Register as a Volunteer by completing an application form.
-
Provide authenticated proof of qualifications, where required.
-
Behave acceptably and appropriately and comply with all Event rules, regulations and policies.

Respect the privacy of others.
-
Dress in a safe and appropriate manner for your duties.

Be dependable and give adequate notice if unable to carry out assigned tasks.

Undertake training in order to perform your duties safely and competently.

Attend all briefing, training and scheduled on-Event meetings.

Co-operate with others to ensure tasks are performed as efficiently as possible.

Provide feedback and recommendations to your team leader and Event organisers.

Be aware of your own welfare and not become over-committed.
