North east Tasmania has a very strong mining history, they came looking for gold but instead found tin. The Trail of the Tin Dragon has been developed between St Helens and Launceston and Derby is the home to the Tin Centre.

Finish the day enjoying a beverage at the now famous Weldborough Hotel. Established in 1876, the current owners Mark (pictured below) and Felicity have created a wonderful establishment that highlights Tasmanian beer and produce.
