North: Ormond Road and Maribyrnong Road

Providing cycling lanes between parked cars and the traffic lane along Ormond and Maribyrnong Roads would mean safer conditions for riders along this busy route.

Election opportunity for candidates to show support

16 August 2012 Bicycle Network Victoria has identified this project as a local council priority for the 2012 Local Government election. Candidates should be ready to support the development and full or partial funding of this project in conjunction with State Government and can tell riders in their Council area their position by posting their candidates' statement at VoteBike.

Safe passage for East/West riders

16 August 2012 Riders along this busy route currently have to contend with no dedicated cycling lanes. There is room for cycling lanes between parked cars and the traffic lane. This would provide riders with safer conditions and would hopefully encourage neighbouring councils Moreland and Maribyrnong to continue lanes along Brunswick Road and Raleigh Road to provide a continuous East/West route.
