15 August 2012 Bicycle Network Victoria has identified this project as a local council priority for the 2012 Local Government election. Candidates should be ready to support the development and full or partial funding of this project in conjunction with State Government and can tell riders in their Council area their position by posting their candidates' statement at VoteBike.
North East residents need bike lanes on Epsom Road
August 2011 Epsom Road has been identified as a Priority Route on the VicRoads Principle Bicycle Network and desperately needs bike lanes put in place to service the hundreds of riders already taking advantage of this flat and direct route toward the CBD from the North East. This could connect riders to otehr nearby exisitng elements of the neotwork such as Racecourse and Macauley Roads or the Capital City Tral down the Moonee Ponds Creek corridor. The section of highest priority is between Maribyrnong Road and Racecourse Road, shown in orange on the map below
