Many sections exist but there are crucial gaps, particularly the eastern end and many of the intersections. Existing lanes could be upgraded with green surface at intersections and vibraline edge marking
South Rd needs completing
April 2010 South Rd is a popular and important east-west route and has been identified as a Priority route on the Principle Bicycle Network.
With the majority of the road already having generous lanes the route needs to be completed with many intersections and the eastern end needing the lanes completed. The route could be greatly enhanced cost effectively with green surface treatments at the intersections and side street conflict points and also vibraline linemarking to help separate vehicles out of the bike lane.
