Linking Gardiners Creek to St Kilda Rd and a series of activity centres along the way, High St has the potential to become a bike, tram and pedestrian friendly corridor

March 2010 A number of adjustments to High St can make it a more viable bike route, with current numbers already growing due to its connectivity to other priority routes such as Gardiners Ck Path, Orrong Rd, Chapel St and St Kilda rd.

Priority phasing at signalised interesctions could advantage trams, bikes and pedestrians all travelling in parallel through the intersection. This could help to unclog a heavily congested route.

The Clearway debate will effect whether bikes get a curb side clearway bike lane (as per Bridge Rd, Richmond) or a delineated bike lane between the parked cars and the tram corridor (as per Brunswick St, Fitzroy).
