Melbourne City Council held a gathering of all relevant stakeholders to discuss the options for the future of Swanston St

26 February 2009. Bicycle Network Victoria recently attended a three day charrette on the future of Swanston Street.
(Charrette: a collaborative session in which a group of designers drafts a solution to a design problem)
The event including council staff, representatives from the retail, developer, and freight industries as well as transport and academic stakeholders.
An exhaustive process saw no stone left unturned as a final range of options were settled on for Council to further develop. We believe these will be considered by Council in the near future.
