Inner: Punt Road Alternative

An alternative route to Punt Road that will take riders from Clifton Hill to St Kilda

This route is being developed for bike riders as an alternative North-South route to Punt Rd.

March 2010 VicRoads have comisioned a study of the project and is currently looking at the River crossing to Alma Park section

Clifton Hill to East Richmond Station

It is planned the route will start in Clifton Hill at the corner of Heidelberg Rd and Fenwick St (Melways Ref 30 F12). Riders will then continue south to Johnston St and will follow Nicholson St-Lennox St to Swan St in Richmond. Once there they will turn left and follow Swan St east for 200 metres and turn right onto Green St which will take them to the north side of East Richmond station.

East Richmond Station to Melbourne High School

Riders will use the underpass to get to the south side of the station. They will then continue along Green St-Oddys Lane to the north side of CityLink. Once there they will use the upgraded rail bridge to cross CityLink, the Yarra River and Alexandra Ave and arrive at the south west corner of the intersection at Yarra St and Alexandra Ave.

Melbourne High School to South Yarra Station

The route will head south along Yarra St to Toorak Rd and then cross south west to Osbourne St.

South Yarra Station to Alma Park

From the south side of Toorak Rd the route will then follow the Sandringham Railway Line to and join the exisitng shared path in Alma Park.
