Bicycle Network: Regional Routes

The rail trail currently ends at Narracan Drive in Moe but extending it to the railway station would increase local use and make it easier for visitors to find the start.

Latrobe City Councillor, Tony Zimora is on the rail trail committee and is keen to see the trail extended to Moe central business district. VicTrack is responsible for the railway land and Cr Zimora has found them difficult to deal with.

"Sometimes they're hard to get an answer from" he says.

Fencing would be required to separate the rail trail from the train tracks.

Cr Zimora suggests that with the rail trail extended under the bridge (pictured) into town people coming from Newborough could ride into town and tourists can find the trail and ride to the power station.

Cr Lisa Price is also a supporter of the rail trail.
