Bicycle Network Victoria is a charity that works hard every day to improve the roads and community attitude you experience while you ride your bike.
With the help of our members, Bicycle Network has become an organisation of a scale that matters. We help protect the rights of bike riders, and help improve riding conditions for all cyclists. Governments listen to us because of the size of our membership; they know we have the cycling community behind us, and that together, our voice is powerful.
Our members’ support has given us the ability to battle for the things that matter to you – like Beach Road no stopping zones, a resurfaced Kew Boulevard and other wins in our ongoing fight for the right level of investment in bike riding
We're a charity that is passionate about what we do and we've made a positive difference to the roads you ride on, but there's always more to be done. We are going to keep fighting to achieve our goals but we need your support. The more there are of us standing up together and making a stand, the stronger we will be.
Currently you are already helping us make cycling popular in Australian society, just by getting out there and riding. By becoming a member you add your voice to nearly 50,000 others who want to see bike riding conditions improve for all cyclists.
As a member you are also protected by crash cover and support which includes third party insurance and access to a free initial consultation with our partner law firm, Maurice Blackburn. We'd prefer you never need this benefit but it's invaluable if you ever do.
We’ll keep you up to date with all that’s happening in the bike riding world that may affect you with an exclusive fortnightly e-news email. You’ll also get a free subscription to Ride On magazine, access to digitised back copies, members’ discounts and early entry on some of our iconic events.
Why we're members

"I had known about Bicycle Network Victoria for some time and had been signed up to receive the newsletter, which, I usually had a look through when it appeared in my Inbox. I had been alerted to Bicycle Network Victoria by a fellow cyclist some time ago with a special mention of the insurance cover that came with the membership. At the time I signed up for the newsletter and after looking around the website I realised that there was quite a bit more to Bicycle Network than I had first thought. Although I intended to sign up as a full member I never got around to it even after my partner and I had our first child. However, it was always in the back of my mind that I should have insurance given how much I ride. Bicycle Network Victoria membership was the obvious option as I would not only be covered for all types or riding, it would help support an organisation that is all about supporting an activity and sport that I love and is entrenched in my everyday life.
But it wasn't until I had a large crash in a race in August 2012 till I joined up. Luckily I won't have any ongoing injuries from the accident. My partner and I joined up as a Bicycle Network Victoria Members during my recovery. It's a shame that it took an accident to get me to finally join. I'm sure that it offers some piece of mind to my partner, as it does me, now that I am back out on the bike again. I'm also very happy that my membership goes some way to supporting an organisation that supports what I love doing. Like the Bicycle Network Victoria website says 'Life is better on a bike'! "

"I am a long-time member of Bicycle Network Victoria. The membership provides me with insurance whilst on the road, which covers all of my commuting and training.
Whilst this is great piece of mind, a portion of Membership funds is also used to support Bicycle Network Victoria campaigns, and this is the real reason I have been, and will continue to be a member.
