Apartment living is on the rise, but they are not always bike friendly

27 May 2010. In a sign of the times a massive new apartment complex to be built in Melbourne will have more bike parking than car spaces, with 846 homes for bikes.
The $220 million development is being built on part of the former Age newspaper site between Lonsdale and Little Lonsdale Streets, near Southern Cross station.
It will accommodate more than 1000 residents. If another proposed development nearby proceeds there will more than new 3000 dwellings built on two city blocks.
