Learn mountain biking skills

Know before you go: check out these skills courses for beginners!

If you're interested in taking part in some off-road action but aren't quite sure where to start, why not do a course to learn some mountain biking skills? All courses listed here are women-specific and/or women-friendly.

Victoria

MTB Skills regularly offer women's only courses and cater for all levels from beginners to advanced.

The Fat Tyre Fliers (FTF) is a mountain bike club with an interest in promoting the sport to women.

Australian Capital Territory

Canberra Off-Road Cyclists run weekend-long mountain biking skills courses specifically for women. They also have regular social rides for women. The club has a few mountain bikes that it can loan to women as well.

Queensland

Roadie Rob's Bicycle School runs mountain biking skills courses through Brisbane City Council's RAW program. For more information, visit the website and click on the link to Real Adventure Women's Program.

South Australia

Inside Line Mountain Bike Club has run a series of women's skills days, with instruction by Australian Downhill World Championship team member Sarah Booth.

Tasmania

The Dirt Devils MTB club in Hobart occasionally run women's MTB skills weekends.
