Sweat rash
Tips to help you combat sweat rash
1. Good cycling knicks will help
Look for an artificial chamois made of Coolmax or other material which tends to draw sweat away from the body. 'Real' chamois leather, underpants or cotton shorts tend to soak up the sweat and keep it close to the body.
2. Clean your cycling knicks
This should be done after each ride. It will help stop bacteria from multiplying.
3. Creams / Cremes
Creams may help but they tend to make things a bit messy and stop things drying out. Some people swear by them for preventing chafing.
Bicycle Network Victoria sells Assos Chamois Creme, which is applied to both the chamois and your skin. It is an all-natural product that neutralises the sweat between your legs. It also provides lubrication between body and knicks.
The general principle, however, is to let the air in and keep things as dry as possible.
