Training for longer rides

Proper training is essential if you are going to tackle longer rides

Proper training is essential if you are going to tackle longer rides like Bicycle Network Victoria's Around the Bay in a Day for the Smith Family or the Great Victorian Bike Ride.

Training advice

We've put together a great information sheet on getting your bike and your body in top gear. See the PDF at the right of this page.

Training circuits

Bicycle Network Victoria is working to improve existing on-road training opportunities for cyclists.

In Albert Park, the two northbound travel lanes are about to be cut to one and a bike lane will soon be painted on the northbound side of Lakeside Drive. Combined with other intersection measures on Aughtie Drive, this will improve cyclist safety.

Cyclist training signs will soon be erected along Beach Rd and three sets of signals have been linked in Frankston to minimise delays to groups of riders.
