Kerbside bike parking in confined spaces

Bike parking solutions for narrow or busy spaces.

Pole Vault bike parks for narrow and busy spaces

The Pole Vault  is an innovative bicycle fixing rail that can be retro-fitted to any existing sign poles or vertical street furniture. With the added benefits of being easily moved and retro-fitted to an alternative location and requiring no excavation, cement or asphalt works, the installation costs for a Pole Vault are much lower than other bike parking facilities.

This bike is blocking pedestrian access to the kerb. A child's bike that has slid down the pole and may have sustained some damage. A bike locked to a pole and jutting out onto the road.

The Pole Vault supports the entire bike frame, preventing the bike from slipping and splaying across the foot path or over the kerb and onto the road, where the bike – or a car – might get damaged, so the Pole Vault is good choice for narrow spaces and road-side bike parking, and the wide frame gives riders lots of flexibility for locking their bike wheels securely.

Pole Vaults in the City of Kingston

The City of Kingston has installed eight Pole Vaults at key locations in the area, as part of the Kingston Cycling and Walking Plan, which gave high priority to the development of supporting network infrastructure including bicycle parking and signage.

The installation of Pole Vault bike rails at Charman Road Shopping Centre in Cheltenham and Warren Road Shopping Centre in Parkdale is in line with this key priority of the Kingston Walking and Cycling Plan.
