Tell us about your Rail Trail experience in the 2009 Easter Rail Trail Survey and win a  bike!

9 April 2009

Take the survey

The 2009 Easter Rail Trail Survey is the third in a series of studies looking at Rail Trail usage patterns. Professor Sue Beeton at La Trobe University has produced previous studies in 2003 and 2006 that have contributed significantly to our understanding of the benefits that Rail Trails have on their local communities, through the tourism visitation and revenue they generate.

Results from this survey will help us improve existing Rail Trails, and make the case for building new ones. Feedback from bike riders and other trail users is one of the best ways to help direct our effort to develop more and better places to ride. Your comments are needed and most welcome.

Some of Professor Beeton's previous work can be found here.

Please tell us about your experience on a Rail Trail this Easter by clicking on the link above and completing the attached survey. Your participation will help us work towards building more and better Rail Trails. Completing the survey will enter you in a draw to win one of the great prizes that are on offer.

The survey is open now and closes April 30.

Photo Gallery

Professor Beeton is also keenly interested in asking for submissions of photos of your Rail Trail experience.

Please send us one photo that you think best illustrates your trip to a Trail, whether it be a shot of a scenic vista, a group photo of friends and family over dinner, or some unique feature of riding along the trail. Whatever you think best enscapulates your trip, we want to see it!

Of course, there is a prize available for submitting photos as well. Two Murray to Mountains cycling tops will be awarded to a random photo prize winner.
