 Your 2010 questions

Question 1- Why did Catherine James resignfrom the BV board, then return as a casual appointment, and now stand for re-election?

Catherine resigned as a Board Member for personal reasons, which fortunately were resolved speedily. Whenever a causal vacancy occurs, the Board considers all available candidates and the contribution they are capable of making having regard to the time required to bring new Board Members “up to speed” for the remainder of the vacancy term. In this instance Catherine was obviously “up to speed” and her contribution was considered; it was decided to appoint her to the casual vacancy.

The Board is keen to address issues that are of concern to the broader membership, accordingly the Board will respond to issues received from the Membership in the order determined by the number of Members expressing an interest in that issue.

We encourage members to submit questions in writing.

We will answer at the Annual General Meeting all questions submitted in writing by close of business Friday 15 October. Please write to us a month before the AGM and we will reply to all questions asked. Please use the Contact form on the right and put ‘AGM Question in the subject’

We will accept questions submitted at the meeting but may not be able to answer them at the meeting.
