This is Australia's toughest mountain bike marathon. But unquestionably Australia's most rewarding. This is the 4th year of the notorious marathon on 17th March at Mt Avoca - riders who want a challenge keep coming back for more because although it is a challenge they are rewarded with the amazing scenery, beautiful event village (at the winery) and fantastic supporting volunteers. While all other mtb marathons are getting easier, THE 'Challenge is still the toughest in Australia. As part of this year Big Hill Events will also be running the 4.5-ish Enduro alongside the Marathon Challenge - both starting at the same time and the Enduro finishing when the first marathon rider returns from the 90k distance. Two distances this year: the full 90k or the half 45k distance - with full stocked feed zones (5 on the 90k course!) and multiple Marshals points, 2012 is set to be another awesome day out in Avoca. This event is what Big Hill Events is all about - giving back to the riders, we work on this trail year round to make sure riders are happy.
