The GREAT Macedon Ranges Challenge is a recreational cycling and running event, starting from the township of Gisborne in the Macedon Ranges. The cycling routes take riders through the region on good sealed roads. The rides start and finish at New Gisborne with routes variously taking in Woodend, Trentham, Daylesford, Kyneton, Hanging Rock, Lancefield and magnificent Mt Macedon. The rides will suit fit riders; capable of 75km – 130km. The running event is on a variety of surfaces over a scenic 15km course in the Gisborne/Riddells Creek area, with the majestic Mount Macedon as a backdrop. Visit the website and download our comprehensive training programs. The events are very well catered with plenty of marshals, water stops and a sumptuous BBQ complete with sandwiches, cakes, fruit and drinks at the end – all included in your entry fee. This is a community event run by Rotary volunteers in association with the Macedon Ranges Running Club. All profits will be directed by Rotary into charities & community projects such as MS Australia, SES, CFA, PolioPlus and others.
