My commitment: As a resident of Maribyrnong with a young family, I strongly support a large increaase in our council's spending on Bicycle infrastructure. Please view my colleague's post (Nick Fahey, scretary FTA) from almost 12 months ago, which I fully supported and approved as president of FTA: (http://www.footscraytraders.com.au/news/lackofbicycleinfrastructure) . As a Councillor I will work to not only increase spending on bicycle projects, but to also lobby large projects in our area, such as Regional Rail, and private developers to provide improved facilities for cycling. Although there have been new bicycle lanes added in the city of Maribyrnong over the last 12 months, we still have a long way to go to even catch up to other suburbs of Melbourne, and my long term goal is to make Maribyrnong one of the most bicycle friendly areas in Melbourne.
