My commitment: High St, Belmont, is the obvious choice and already popular with the current riders heading into town. The space is available as parking soaks up much of the left lane. Retaining the right hand existing vehicle whilst formalising the space already used by riders will encourage more people to commute by bike and help relieve the congestion in the Geelong CBD. With the new bike path being constructed across the Moorabool Street Bridge, the obvious next step is to capitalise on the current Bracks Government investment and connect the Bridge path to the people of Belmont and beyond.
