My commitment: Let’s make Banyule a bicycle friendly place! There are some obvious opportunities to improve and develop bicycle facilities and infrastructure within Banyule; it just needs the will and commitment of the Council. As a Councillor, I would ensure that priority is given to complete missing links and dedicate increased funding for upgrades of the existing network. Banyule is well serviced by linear north-south trails along parks and waterways; however there is very little east-west connectivity – we need to fix that. I would also work to install better bike parking in strip shopping areas like Montmorency and Lower Plenty. People thinking about undertaking a trip by cycling shouldn’t hesitate when they think of the route they need to take. Top quality trails and links should be a given.
