My commitment: With so many cyclists in Moreland, there is a desperate need to extend and upgrade bike paths, especially the Upfield bike path. The Upfield bike path needs to be widened where possible and cyclists separated from pedestrians. The Upfield bike path needs to be extended to the end of the Upfield line so there needs to be discussion between the Moreland Council and the Hume Council to facilitate this. A new bike path needs to be built along the Craigieburn line and an alternative north-south bike path needs to be investigated near Sydney Road to take some of the pressure off the Upfield bike path. More east-west bike paths need to be investigated and built such as the suggestion for one on Glenlyon Rd/Dawson St. Council also needs to look at improving parking/storage for bikes around shopping centres.
