My commitment: Cycling has become an increasing popular health and fitness activity, but of more significance it has become a viable and frequent form of personal mobility. I believe Councils are well placed to look at opportunities to improve the take up and amenity of cycling amongst its residents. While motor vehicles will remain the most frequent mode of transport, Councils need to think progressively and intelligently about how best to integrate cycling into its transport plans, so that both automotive and cycling can successfully co-exist, be enjoyed by all, and importantly fulfil individual resident and business transport demands and needs.
