About this page

Candidate for Casey (VIC)

Party: independent

I live in city/suburb: Cranbourne

My commitment: I walked to school my wife walked to school as did my sister, and I rode my bike to my friends on the weekends. I am surprised at how the shifts in thinking between the generations have taken place so that a whole generation soon won’t know how to ride a bike, and will hardly walk at all. The Ride2School program is a simple and wonderful concept, falling in line with my policies as such has my full support on council. My ward and the one neighboring it have large urban developments underway, we already know we have tiny streets that busses and rubbish trucks find difficult to get through, I want to see no more over sites and have, vibrant places planned and built so everyone can ride and walk. Repairs and upgrades requiring repair are part and parcel with a council’s responsibility, the shared path from Narre Warren Creek to the station appears to be one of these cases. I will commit to maintaining similar levels of The Bicycle Expenditure Index (BiXE). The Hallam Main Drain Trail appears at a glance to be a large undertaking, whilst I see the great benefits of the project and in principle it has my support; however I wish to reserve my commitment until I am able to have a look at the council’s books.
