Candidate for Hume (VIC)
Party: Independent
I live in city/suburb: Craigieburn
My commitment: Victoria has the highest rate of cycling in Australia, with more than 1 million Victorians riding a bicycle every week. That’s why the relationship between local government and this booming sport is critical. Over recent years Hume Council has established significant and constructive relationships with the entire cycling landscape in this municipality. From competitive cycling clubs to the ever popular HumeBUG, Hume has worked hard at improving services to not only these groups but individual cyclist. That’s why, if elected I will work hard to continue and improve these services and above all on the relationship between cyclist and the broader community in Hume. I will be a passionate advocate for local government investment in cycling facilities ranging from purpose built cycling courses to improving street facilities for the ever growing recreational cycling community. The next four years will be critical to ensuring local government keeps up with the demand as more and more residents take up this sport.
