I live in city/suburb: Boroondara
My commitment: I strongly support more off-road bicycle infrastructure for our City. I am standing as an independent candidate for Maling Ward , City of Boroondara. I support a 1% funding allocation per year ($1.1m in 2013/14) , of Boroondara's annual budget for the development of bicyle infrastructure, and education. My family and I are regular cyclists, and I am very involved with Boroondara BUG's and Lighter Footprint's advocacy for an off-road east-west bike trail throughout our city. I am a strong supporter of off-road bike paths for residents. The many Benefits include healthy living (reducing heart risk, obesity and diabetes) , easing of on-road congestion, sustainability (reducing greenhouse gases) , reducing household costs, safety compared to on-road, inclusiveness of all ages and abilities (incl school kids, Swinburne students, Seniors, those with disabilities, including for those without car licences).
