My commitment: I am standing as an independent candidate for the Griffin Ward (Banyule City Council). Bike riding has many health benefits and is practical, too. It should be more popular. Local councils are in the best position to facilitate further use of bikes in a safe manner. With bike riding, there are no high impact injuries on joints. It should be part of a healthy lifestyle. Bicycles provide highly mobile and personal transportation, benefiting the environment (no pollutants are emitted, and no fossil fuels are required to get it started). I support more bike path networks, for both recreational use and purposefully meeting individuals' transportation needs. In particular, bike networks connecting to public transport hubs or nodes.
