Candidate for Melbourne (VIC)
Party: The Greens
I live in city/suburb: Kensington
My commitment: As a Greens candidate for Melbourne City Council, I am committed to fast-tracking the expansion of Melbourne’s bike network and making this a budget priority. This expansion would start with the 49 routes identified in the City of Melbourne’s Bike Plan. We will also make cycling safer by creating separated bike lanes along streets with a high incidence of dooring accidents, starting with the lengths of St Kilda Rd and Elizabeth St. You can view the Greens’ complete, and detailed transport policy for the City of Melbourne here: www.melbournecitygreens.com/transport. I ride to work from Kensington, and I’ve been knocked off my bike enough times to know that we need to make cycling in Melbourne safer; both for those who currently ride, and for those who are too nervous to start. If I'm elected as a Greens Councillor I’m committed to the fast expansion of Melbourne's separated bike lane commuter network.
