Candidate for Whittlesea (VIC)

Party: Independent

I live in city/suburb: South Morang

My commitment: As a true Independent candidate for Whittlesea, I am very involved in my local cycling community, so as such my commitment is to deliver the connected safe cycling routes that our community desperately requires. I sit on the Whittlesea Bicycle User Group (BUG) and Whittlesea Cycling Club Committees. I am part owner of a local bicycle store, and as such have great knowledge of our cycling community requirements. I also assist in cycling education classes, help lead out social beginner rides, assist with local primary school Ride2School events, and have lead Whittlesea Community Connections Youth group rides. Within both Committees, I have taken on an advocacy role, having secured $16,000 of grants towards cycling education and road safety campaigns in Whittlesea. I have met up with the Local Council to discuss the BUG’s priorities for future cycling infrastructure, including Yan Yean WaterPipe track amongst other key cycling routes focused on safe commuting to the City and for social hubs including schools and recreational facilities. My small business has partnered with Whittlesea Council to assist with Ride2Work day by offering staff incentives and we assisted with donations for the grand opening of the Parkiteer cages at South Morang Train Station. I seek your support in the Whittlesea North Ward Elections. Please help our cycling community get an active voice on Local Council.
